Whew, what a tornado of activity during the last few weeks! I framed previous and new "Pioneers of Bushwick" images for two different venues and I'm so happy with how the final pieces look. Hi Daryl-Ann! Thank you for reaching out to me! My husband was born in Bushwick and remained there until 1977. His grandparents and other family members lived in Bushwick from the 1960's. He has fond memories and great photos from back then..some, he can also borrow from his mom. He grew up part of his life at 1185 Hancock..the house is still there. After moving from Bushwick, part of his family relocated to New Orleans. However, he with his parents moved to Queens, NY, so he was noever too far ad would vist the area sporadically. When we attend Mme. Meisler and Martir's event given at the Live Gallery by Nyssa, it brought back many childhood memories for him.
